I tried to generate some inspiring AI images of spreadsheets for folks, to varying degrees of success.
That said, I was using the free versions of these tools and maybe my expectations were just a bit too high. It’s also very possible that AI just can’t capture the magnificence of the spreadsheet (what possibly could?)
In the best segue possible - if you’re a user of spreadsheets, particularly Google Sheets, you may also not be capturing the magnificence of Google Sheets! SheetWhiz helps you do this by bringing over Excel shortcuts + additional formatting & trace precedents tools (similar to Macabacus on Excel). Prompts for the first 4 spreadsheet AI images are below. To offset the mediocrity of my initial attempt, I also added 5 of my recent favorite AI-generated images at the end of the gallery. All art was generated by BlueWillow, Playground AI, and Midjourney. I took the last 5 images after perusing each of their respective galleries. For the purposes of just appreciating AI artwork, I'm not planning on disclosing which tool produced which image
Prompt 1: Show me Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel as two cartoon characters who are friends in the style of the Naruto anime
Prompt 2: Generate abstract art using spreadsheets. The artwork should feel powerful - you've done an analysis without a single mistake!
Prompt 3: Spreadsheet landscape: Create a landscape using spreadsheet cells. Use color coding to differentiate between different elements such as grass, trees, water, and mountains.
Prompt 4: Generate an image of a futuristic cityscape made entirely out of spreadsheets. Use color coding to differentiate between different types of buildings and roads.
