Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 3, 2026
Key Takeaways
Not an attorney? Here is what we think you should know:
-
SheetWhiz and its affiliates collect your personal information only as required to deliver you SheetWhiz products and services.
-
SheetWhiz does not sell your personal or other information to third parties.
-
SheetWhiz does not retain billing information such as credit card and bank account numbers.
-
SheetWhiz does not store the contents of your spreadsheets on our servers. How your data is handled depends on the feature you use.
-
Many features, including ones that read or edit your spreadsheet such as Trace Precedents, Trace Dependents, and Auto-Color, run through a lightweight Google Apps Script on Google-managed infrastructure. Your data stays within Google and is never sent to or stored by SheetWhiz.
-
Account-based features, such as saved or shared shortcuts, may store shortcut configuration data so those features can sync across devices or be shared with other users. This shortcut configuration data does not include the contents of your spreadsheets.
-
AI Features send the specific data you choose to submit to a trusted third-party AI provider, which processes it to generate your result and returns it to you. SheetWhiz passes this data through and does not store it. We do not use your data to train AI models, and under their standard API terms, our AI providers do not train on it either.
The SheetWhiz Chrome Extension adheres to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, as required by Google
Collection and Use of Personal Information
Personal information is data that can be used to identify or contact a single person.

You may be asked to provide your personal information anytime you are in contact with SheetWhiz or a SheetWhiz-affiliated company. SheetWhiz and its affiliates may share this personal information with each other and use it consistent with this Privacy Policy. They may also combine it with other information to provide and improve our products, services, content, and advertising. You are not required to provide the personal information that we request, but your choice not to do so may prohibit us from providing you with our products or services or respond to your queries.

What personal information we collect
-
When you interact with SheetWhiz via our website, a website hosted by a third party, email, chat, or telephone to purchase a SheetWhiz product, install SheetWhiz application, register for or participate in a demo or training session, participate in an online forum or survey, or for any other reason, we may collect a variety of information such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, contact preferences, and credit card information.
-
When you use the SheetWhiz Chrome Extension, we may collect your email address along with all other information gathered as part of the sign-up and login process.

How we use your personal information
-
We use personal information to help us create, develop, operate, deliver, and improve our products, services, content, and advertising, and for loss prevention and anti-fraud purposes.
-
We may use your personal information to verify identity, assist with identification and authorization of users, and to determine appropriate products and services.
-
We may use your personal information to send important notices, such as communications about purchases, changes to your account, and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies. Because this information is important to your interaction with SheetWhiz, you may not opt out of receiving these communications.
-
We may use your personal information to notify you of product announcements, software updates, related services or information, and upcoming events. If you do not wish to receive these notices, you can opt out of our mailing list anytime by updating your preferences.
-
We may use personal information for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis, and research to improve SheetWhiz' products, services, and customer communications.
Collection and Use of Non-Personal Information
We also collect data in a form that does not, on its own, permit direct association with any specific individual. We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. The following are examples of non-personal information — except where such information is considered personal by local law — that we collect and how we may use it:
-
We may collect information such as unique device and network identifiers, language, zip code, area code, referrer URL, location, and the time zone where a SheetWhiz product is used so that we can better understand customer behavior and improve our products, services, and advertising.
-
We may collect information regarding customer activities on our website and from our software products and other services. This information is aggregated and used to help us provide more useful information to our customers and to understand which parts of our website, products, and services are of most interest. Aggregated data is considered non-personal information for the purposes of this Privacy Policy.
-
We may collect and store details of how you use our services, including activity logs. This information may be used to
improve our products and services.

If we do combine non-personal information with personal information, or with any other non-personal information for the purpose of building a profile of an individual, the combined information will be treated as personal information for as long as it remains combined.

Sensitive, Non-Personal Information
The SheetWhiz Chrome Extension, like any other Google Chrome Extension designed for use with Google Sheets, may be exposed to non-personal information and data of a confidential or proprietary nature stored within your Google workbooks. SheetWhiz does not store this information on our servers. When you use AI Features, the data you choose to submit is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate your result, as described in the AI Features section below.

Cookies and Other Technologies
SheetWhiz may use "cookies" and other technologies such as pixel tags and web beacons. These technologies help us better understand user behavior, tell us which parts of our websites people have visited, and facilitate and measure the effectiveness of advertisements and web searches. We treat information collected by cookies and other technologies as non-personal information. However, to the extent that Internet Protocol (IP) addresses or similar identifiers are considered personal information by local law, we also treat these identifiers as personal information. Similarly, to the extent that non-personal information is combined with personal information, or with any other non-personal information for the purpose of building a profile of an individual, we treat the combined information as personal information for the purposes of this Privacy Policy.

If you want to disable cookies, check with your browser provider to learn how to do so. Note that certain SheetWhiz features and other online services may be unavailable once cookies are disabled.
As is true of most Internet services, we may gather some information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type and language, Internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit websites and applications, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information to understand and analyze trends, to administer our services and website, to learn about user behavior, to improve our product and services, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may use this information in our marketing and advertising services.
In some of our email messages, we may use a "click-through URL" linked to content on the SheetWhiz website. When customers click one of these URLs, they pass through a separate web server before arriving at the destination page on our website. We may track this click-through data to help us determine interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications. If you prefer not to be tracked in this way, do not click text or graphic links in the email messages.
Pixel tags enable us to send email messages in a format customers can read, and they tell us whether mail has been opened. We may use this information to reduce or eliminate messages sent to customers.

AI Features
Some SheetWhiz features use artificial intelligence to generate results such as formulas, analyses, and summaries ("AI Features"). When you use an AI Feature, the spreadsheet data, prompts, and instructions you choose to submit are sent to one or more third-party AI providers, which process that data to generate your result and return it to you. SheetWhiz passes this data through to provide your result and does not store it on our servers. We may store limited operational logs for AI Features to operate the feature, enforce usage limits, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and improve the Services, but these logs do not include spreadsheet contents, formulas, values, prompts, or AI responses.
Our AI providers may retain the data you submit for a limited period, generally up to 30 days, to monitor for abuse and misuse, after which it is deleted unless they are legally required to retain it. We do not use or retain data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models, and under our AI providers' standard API terms, they do not use data you submit to train their models.

We never use data obtained through Google Workspace APIs, or any data derived from it, for advertising or marketing, and we never sell it or share it with data brokers or other information resellers. We may use de-identified or aggregated data, which does not identify you and is not derived from the contents of your spreadsheets, to understand usage and improve the Services. A current list of our AI providers and other subprocessors is available as described in our Data Processing Addendum.

These companies are obligated to protect your information and may be located wherever SheetWhiz operates. Personal information will only be shared by SheetWhiz to provide or improve our products, services, and advertising; it will not be shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

It may be necessary, by law, legal process, litigation, and/or requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence, for SheetWhiz to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of law enforcement or other matters of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate. No such disclosures have been required of SheetWhiz in the past, and we do not reasonably expect to be compelled to make such disclosures in the future.

We may also disclose information about you if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or users. Additionally, in the event of a reorganization, merger, or sale we may transfer any and all personal information we collect to the relevant third party.

SheetWhiz does not sell, or otherwise share except as described above, personal information with third parties.
Protection of Personal Information
SheetWhiz takes the security of your personal information very seriously. SheetWhiz online services protect your personal information during transit using encryption such as Transport Layer Security (TLS). We store the personal data necessary to provide the Services, such as your account information, settings, and account-based feature configuration, such as saved shortcut preferences. We do not store the contents of your spreadsheets on our servers. We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Services and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, after which we delete or de-identify it unless retention is required or permitted by law. We only work with highly reputable partners including Google (server), Wix (website and payments processor), PayPal (payments processor), and Stripe (payments processor).

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

You can help ensure that your contact information and preferences are accurate, complete, and up-to-date by logging in to your account at https://SheetWhiz.com. You may request that we correct your information if it is inaccurate or delete the data if SheetWhiz is not required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may decline to process requests that are frivolous/vexatious, jeopardize the privacy of others, are impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required by local law. Access, correction, and deletion requests can be made by contacting us.
